ESTATE PLANNING

Why ESTATE PLANNING matters for YOUR home!

Estate planning helps protect your home, avoid heirs’ property issues, and ensure your property is passed down clearly to future generations. Planning ahead can reduce legal and financial risks while preserving long term family stability and generational wealth.

Wills

Transfer on Death Deeds

A will is a legal document that outlines how your assets such as your home, money, and personal property will be distributed after your death. It also allows you to name an executor to carry out your wishes and can designate guardians for minor children. Without a will, Texas law determines who inherits your property, which may not reflect your intentions.

A Transfer on Death Deed (TODD) allows you to name a beneficiary who will automatically inherit your real property, such as your home, when you pass away without going through probate. You maintain full ownership during your lifetime, and the transfer only takes effect after death. This is one of the most effective tools for protecting heirs’ property and avoiding costly legal processes.

Power of Attorney

Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney (POA) allows you to appoint a trusted person, your agent, to manage your financial and legal matters if you are unable to do so. This can include paying bills, managing property, or handling financial decisions. It can take effect immediately or only if you become incapacitated.
